Riots and barricades in Dutch most exclusive shopping area.
During the COVID-19 lockdown and curfew in Amsterdam, protesting hooligans, right-wing extremists and rioting youth threatened to vandalise and loot shops in the most exclusive shopping area in the Netherlands. In response, shop owners in PC Hooftstraat and the nearby Museum Quarter nailed their windows shut. Much to the dismay of Amsterdam's mayor, Femke Halsema.
